There are many computer help forums on the Internet.  These forums can be a huge source of help and information if you post your questions on them correctly.  Granted, there aren’t any rules on how you are suppose to post a topic or question, but there are some guidelines that you can follow to help you get your questions answered quickly.

bulletState your problem clearly.  If you are getting error messages, write down the exact error message and leave nothing out.  (Example:  EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in SHELL32.DLL)
bulletProvide them with information about your computer including:
bulletThe manufacturer of your computer and the model number
bulletHow much RAM you have
bulletThe CPU speed
bulletThe operating system you are using
bulletAnswer all questions that are asked of you. If you don t understand the question, then post back letting them know that you don’t understand. If you’re a newbie, then tell them that also. Generally, if a tech knows that you are a newbie they will go into more detail on the answer by giving very simple step-by-step instructions on what you need to do to fix your problem.
bulletLast but not least, don’t feel embarrassed about asking a question which you deem as stupid.  It’s possible that there might be someone else out there that has the same question but is afraid to ask it.  Remember, we all were newbies at one time.
